Reopening Action plan for St. Andrew May 23, 2021
1. The Reopening Team is composed of the Pastor, Fran Olsen, Worship & Music, Betsy Foushee, Music, Jeff Griffin, Property, Rob Burton, AV, Ryan Shelton, Safety, Cathy Heely, Congregational Rep, Jan Wallace, Council Rep. Others may be added as needed.
2. Given the current average attendance of each church and the ages of the members, we anticipate being below the 50% worship attendance of phase 2.
3. We will continue to live stream the services for our most vulnerable, shut-ins, and those who may not be comfortable attending in person at this time. The service will continue to be posted to the Facebook pages as well.
4. Six feet of distancing is encouraged for everyone who is not part of the same family unit.
5. Face coverings are required. They may be removed to take communion.
6. There will be one usher located outside the door who will be in a mask. That person’s role is to make sure people coming in are masked.
7. All doors may be used for exiting.
8. At this time on Sundays, only the sanctuary, restrooms, and pastor’s office may be used, all other rooms are “off-limits”.
9. There will be a designated place in the sanctuary to place the offerings.
10. For this phase of worship, we will purchase the sealed, prepared elements. The prepackaged Communion Elements may be taken at your seat. The prepackaged containers will be deposited in the trash while leaving and will not be left in the pews.
11. The church will have sufficient hand sanitizer. However, people are encouraged to bring their own to help minimize the touching of shared containers.
12. There will be no handshaking or hugging during this phase. The passing of the peace may still be done but only to those immediately around you and without touching and maintaining distancing. 13. There will be no nursery/babysitting, during this time.
14.There will be no snacks or beverages offered (coffee hour). People are to leave after worship and not congregate in the open spaces inside the building. If people would like to talk, they are encouraged to do so outside in the open area.
15. Anyone not feeling well or sick should not come. Every person coming to worship should take their temperature before leaving home, if they have a fever of 100.4 they must not come. Temperatures will not be taken at the church.
16. The church will be cleaned before each service following standard practices and appropriate regulations.
17. Signs will be posted on the front doors stating, “No one with fever or symptoms of COVID-19 or known exposure to COVID-19 in the prior 14 days is allowed to enter.”
On final approval of this plan, copies will be put on the Facebook pages, website, emailed, and a copy kept at the church for all members to review from time to time, especially as changes are made.
